Earn Your Scars: Studio Diary

POW! the gangvocals are done, so we sit here happy with some friends, our stomacs full, and a beer in our hand and look back at the last week with happiness and pride. we are extremely happy with what we have accomplished during the week, everything has turned out much better than we had expected. The only thing left is the two songs Berlin has to do, and they will be done next sunday. We would like give a huge shout out to Günter for being a great studio tec. and to Per and Jannick from Spinkick for doing guest vocals on D.K.H.C. and Steve for the great intro speak and great effort on the gangvocals, nikolaj for some hard ass shouting on the gangvocals, and the girls for cooking a nice dinner tonight.

So we woke up this morning to find out that Berlins voice was gone. so Berlin wont be doing the last two tracks untill next sunday. on the positive side we have started to do some mixing, with very good results so far. later today we will be doing the gangvocals.

Just got back from MCD, happy with food in our stomacs and guest vocals finished. all there is left to do today is to have a few beers and wait till tomorrow, to do the gangvocals. Per, Jannick and Steve all did awesome jobs on the guest vocals, and all we have left is two songs for Berlin and the gangvocals. We’re looking foreward to nikolaj coming over to join us for gangvocals and a couple of beers tomorrow. till then: “NO GUTS, NO GLORY, THE STREETS ARE ALIVE WITH THE SOUND OF PAIN, EARN YOUR FUCKING SCARS SON” (Steve).

So freese finished off the bass tracks earlier today, and Berlin is nine songs down, so everything is still going great. Per and Jannick from Spinkick, and Steve (FAF) arrived about an hour ago, and are weel on the waywith the guest vocals, and it is going to kill!

another day has pased in the life of EYS, and we must say that the burgers from “byens burger” kicks ass! thank you D:E:R. Berlin has been shouting for some hours now, and has finished off two songs, Freese has been gaming alot as the German Wermacht in Company of heroes, and Morten and Jakob has been saying “COCKMAN” ALOT of times. Now we are looking foreward to the Spinkick guys and Steve and Mads showing up tomorrow to lay down some guest vocals FAF!

Yo people!

After a night at home with our ladies our energy has been recharged, and we’ve started recording again. The last crispy bass tracks are almost done and Berlin is in the box doin’ the vocals.
Sadly, we’re out of kropølse and leverpostej. But fortunately we have a lot of beers coffee and rugbrød in our possesion.

Okay, here we go. Welcome to our studio diary, we started recording our debut album this monday at Smart’N'Hard productions in Aarhus. So far everything has been going better than expected, Morten finished recording the drums for all 12 tracks on tuesday afternoon, and Jakob lay down the guitar tracks in record time as well, and finished off earlier today. Now all we need is for Mr. Freese to get the basslines recorded and we are ready to record some loud and aggressive vocals from Mr. Berlins throat. All in All it looks to be a killer album.
